The Great River Coalition, a non-profit 501(c) (3) environmental membership organization, is the creator of the 5K Bee Fun Run/Walk event. Our partners for the run include the National Park Service and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The Minneapolis park system is a recognized national leader and voted the number one park system in the United States!
Our goal, with a coalition of partners, is to extend the Pollinator Pathway from the headwaters of the Mississippi at Lake Itasca to the Gulf of Mexico.
The Great River Coalition 5K Bee Run/Walk and River Clean-Up is our Flagship annual event drawing attention to the plight of our pollinator friends and
• Bring people and attention to one of our greatest assets, the Mississippi River and the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area, the only national park on the Mississippi River;
• Provide an opportunity to enjoy the Minneapolis Mississippi Riverfront environment; and Finally, support our goal of creating a Pollinator Pathway of critical habitat ALONG OUR GREAT RIVER.
